Jessica Thompson

Jessica Thompson took over as director of the Capitol City Chordsmen in 2003.  Her fresh style, infectious enthusiasm, and desire to grow musically made her an ideal choice for the position of Director.

Raised in a musical family, she immersed herself in music during her days at Haslett High School by singing in choir, ensemble, and playing in the band (she was drum major).  Following school, she performed in community choirs.

In 1998 she became a Sweet Adeline as a member of the Water Wonderland Chorus.  She soon became involved with the visual team and with the chorus board of directors.  She served as a section leader, assistant director, and interim director for their 2002 spring contest (where she won the Novice Director of the Year award).

She has been involved in several Sweet Adeline quartets and currently sings tenor in the 2005 Buckeye Invitational Mixed Quartet Champions, Sidekicks.  Jessica works as a customer service representative for our local utility company.  She is also the mother of two children Sara, 15 and Zachary, 12.  Both are also very musically talented, and Zachary currently sings tenor with the Capital City Chordsmen as well.
